14U-A1 and 16U-A1 Head Coach Announcement

The Spokane Junior Chiefs announce the return of Dustin Donaghy and Alex Peltram as our 16U-A1 and 14U-A1 Head Coaches. Both coaches led our 16U-A1 and 14U-A1 teams to PNAHA State Titles and USA Hockey National Championship Tournament bids during the 2018-19 seasons.

As a Spokane Chiefs alumni, Coach Donaghy will be in his second year with SAYHA after coaching in the BCHL for Nanaimo and a 5 year professional playing career. Coach Peltram is entering his third season as a coach for the Junior Chiefs after playing all of his youth hockey with SAYHA and 3 seasons with the Spokane Braves. Coach Peltram works as a firefighter/paramedic for the City of Spokane Fire Department, and when they’re not at the rink coaching/playing hockey, both volunteer coaches love the outdoors and enjoy spending time with friends and family.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, our organization is excited to have these two National Bound Team Coaches return for next season. Both coaches did a fantastic job last season leading our teams to National Tournament bids. Specifically, Coach Donaghy did a great job preparing the players to be ready for junior-level hockey, as is evident with the number of players that have already committed to the Spokane Braves organization for the 2019-20 season. Coach Peltram also did a great job preparing the players, leading our 14U-A1 teams to back-to-back State Championships these past two season!

As coach retention and consistency is a priority for our club, we’re thrilled to have two of our top coaches returning in their roles for our National Bound teams for 2019-2020. We appreciate the time, talent and integrity that not only Coaches Donaghy and Peltram bring to our organization, but that of all of our amazing Spokane Youth Hockey Division Directors, coaches, assistant coaches and on-ice assistants. Thank you for all the time that you dedicate to our youth hockey players.

Go Jr. Chiefs!
