10U Division Families!
We will be holding an Information Night for our 2009/2010 birth years on Wednesday, June 26th at 6 PM at Eagles Ice Arena in the Conference Room above Rink 2.
This season, our Association is looking forward to forming a number of teams at the 10U Division, including a 10U-A1 team, 2 – 10U-A2 teams and 2-3 – 10U House Division teams for the 2019-2020 season.
At the meeting on June 26th, we will provide attendees with information regarding the formation of our Rep and House Division teams. We will explain the 10U Rep Division evaluation process, 10U House Rate Skate process, and cost/development comparisons (and season overviews) between the two divisions. Our goal at this meeting is to ensure that you have the best information available for your player in deciding which division – Rep or House – is right for your family. As always, we will welcome any questions you have about the upcoming Rep and House seasons at our 10U Division.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, June 26th at 6 PM at Eagles Ice Arena (Conference Room above Rink 2).
See you at the rink!

The Spokane Jr. Chiefs announce the return of our Division Coaching Directors and 12U-A1 Head Coach.
16/18U DCD – Dustin Donaghy
14U DCD – Dustin Donaghy
12U DCD – Tysen Azevedo
10U DCD – TBD*
8U DCD – Chris Foster
12U-A1 Head Coach – Mike Pankey
Director of Goaltending Development – TBD**
On behalf of the Board of Directors, our organization is excited to have them back in these positions. Last year we saw tremendous results in player skill development that helped SAYHA claim 5 out of the 7 PNAHA State Titles that we competed for (10U-Silver, 12U-Gold, 12U-Silver, 14U-Tier 2, 16U-Tier 2). Specifically, Coach Pankey did a fantastic job leading our 12U-A1 team to a PNAHA Gold State Championship and a West Kootenay League Championship.
Welcome back! We’re thrilled to see what the 2019-2020 season brings!
*We are constantly evaluating the local 10U hockey environment. We strive to not only provide the highest quality player development, but also a family friendly experience. With the limited number of quality home and local 10U-A1 games available, we are currently discussing the best options for our 10U players and families. This will include either a stand-alone 10U-A1 team or a 10U-A1 tournament team in which the players would also play on one of three blended A2 teams. As we weigh the options and make a decision about our 10U Rep program, we will keep you informed.
**As many of you may have heard, Coach Kyle Knudsen recently moved to Tri-Cities. We appreciate all the goalie development he provided over the past three seasons and wish him luck with his new job and town. We are currently looking for a Director of Goaltending Development to oversee all of our goaltenders and the goalie specific coaches. We will let you know as soon as we find our next Goalie Director.
It’s an exciting time to a Spokane Jr. Chief! Our programs and player development model are growing everyday. If you’re looking for a way to keep your player active this summer, please check out all of our summer hockey opportunities starting next week. Registration for all of the programming can be found above under “Register.”
Go Jr. Chiefs!
