2020 Spring Learn to Play
Spokane Youth Hockey is pleased to announce that we will host a $99 Learn to Play Hockey program for youth players. Our $99 Learn to Play program is for players who have basic skating skills and are ready for more hockey. Players are in full hockey gear for this class.
Learn to Play consists of small groups of players on the ice with similar skill levels and follows the "American Development Model":www.admkids.com guidelines
which promote high activity through fun, station based practices and games. In order to effect appropriate skill development for LTP
players, space is limited to 40 players per session.
Prerequisite: Lilac City Figure Skating Club’s Learn to Skate Class, Preschool Skate or basic skating ability (Learn to Skate class information and schedules can be found at www.eaglesicearena.com
Series Length: Spring 6 week series – 1 class a week on Tuesday evenings (may join at any time)
– 6:15-7:15 PM on Rink 1 at Eagles Ice Arena (6321 North Addison Spokane, WA 99208).
The Spring Session will run April 14th – May 19th.
Equipment Required: Full hockey gear and stick (rental equipment is available through Spokane Youth Hockey sponsor, Play It Again Sports (1808 West Francis Spokane, WA 99205) for $39.00 (with the option to purchase at the end of the LTP
class). Full gear includes a hockey helmet with facemask, hockey gloves and a stick – elbow pads and knee pads are recommended.
$99 Price Includes: Jr. Chiefs Learn to Play jersey and 6 hours of LTP
ice instruction and scrimmages.
In order to register for our Learn to Play program, you must first register your player with USA
Hockey (see below).

USA HOCKEY NUMBER
We require that all of our players register with USA Hockey, which provides insurance for your player for the 2019-2020 season. In order to continue registering for Learn to Play program, you must have a valid USA Hockey confirmation number. If you do not already have a confirmation number, please first register at USAHockey.com then return back to this page to complete your registration.

USA Hockey Consent to Treat Certification
I certify that on this date, as the parent or guardian of the player that I am registering, that I give my consent to USA Hockey and its medical representative to obtain medical care from any licensed physician, hospital or clinic for the above mentioned participant, for any injury that could arise from participation in USA Hockey sanctioned events.
USA Hockey Player Code of Conduct
1. No swearing or abusive language on the bench, in the rink, or at any team function.
2. No lashing out at any official no matter what the call is. The coaching staff will handle all matters pertaining to officiating.
3. Anyone who receives a penalty will skate directly to the penalty box.
4. Fighting will not be tolerated. Fighting will result in an appearance before a Discipline Committee.
5. There will be no drinking, smoking, chewing of tobacco or use of illegal substance at any team function.
6. I will conduct myself in a befitting manner at all facilities (ice rink, hotel, restaurant, etc) during all team functions.
7. Any player or team official who cannot abide by these rules or violates them will be subject to further disciplinary action.

Waiver of Liability
By registering with Spokane Americans Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA), the participant and his/her parents or guardians consents to participate at his/her own risk. SAYHA and its owners, employees or agents, shall not be liable for any damage whatsoever arising from any personal injury or property loss sustained by participant or his/her family in relation to any SAYHA programs. Participants and parents assume full responsibility for all injuries and damages which occur in relation to any programs. He/She does hereby fully and forever release, discharge and hold harmless SAYHA, all associated facilities and its owners, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, damages or rights of action, present or future, resulting from any person’s participation in any programs or use of the facility. In addition, he/she agree(s) to follow the rules of conduct and play set by USA Hockey and Spokane Youth Hockey. Failure to do so may result in suspension or expulsion from participation. By registering, you authorize SAYHA and its assigns to utilize any and all photographs, pictures or other likeness of me or anyone assigned guardianship to me, as they deem appropriate in promotional materials or team films. Your registration also authorizes Spokane Youth Hockey to add your email address to our database for email communications (of which you have the ability to opt out or update your preferences at any time).
By registering with SAYHA, participant and his/her parents or guardian agree to pay all incurred fees due SAYHA. These fees include payment of all registration fees no later than the dates outlines in the Spokane Youth Hockey Rep Division Evaluation and Programming Guide and the Spokane Youth Hockey Policies and Procedures Handbook. Any returned NSF checks will result in a fee of $25 being added to your account.
